"Layoff" and "The Bailout Game"

There are two new video games, called "Layoff" and "The Bailout Game" introduced which will make you solve the financial crisis faced by the world.

Tiltfactor Labs and the Rochester Institute of Technology's Game Design and Development program have created the game called "Layoff," which requires players to lay off workers in order to save company money and is similar to "Bejeweled," according to USA.

"Players save more money by laying off five workers at once, initiating a bank takeover. When players get stuck, they can click on bank bailout to improve their chances," according to the article. Unlike reality, bankers are exempt from layoffs.

The Blue Earth Interactive LLC called "The Bailout Game" advertises the slogan: "The economy is failing. Who will save us?" The game lets you drive around a bailout buggy/dump truck to distribute bailout funds to struggling U.S. institutions. The game also allows you to "phone" Alan Greenspan for help. Your decisions are judged, most un-objectively, by "media reports" and you are awarded with "beers."

Since everyone seems to have a different solution to fixing the recession, what to do with TARP funds and how to restructure financial institutions, we might as well get in the game. - Maria Woehr
